Profile Re-assembled
A deconstructed Air Jordan 1, transformed into graphic art and layered with vintage Japanese magazine pages — a fusion of sport, fashion, and contemporary expression.
Jordan Re-imagined
The Air Jordan 1 was never approached as a sneaker, but as a cultural artifact — an emblem of athleticism, rebellion, and identity. At Studio Backdoor, we deconstructed this icon not to diminish it, but to reveal its latent potential as art. Line by line, silhouette by silhouette, the Jordan was outlined, reassembled, and abstracted into a graphic composition that celebrates movement, rhythm, and form.
To this, we layered another narrative: fragments of vintage Japanese magazines, renowned for their avant-garde layouts and daring visual language. Their imagery became a second skin — a palimpsest where East meets West, where subculture fuses with history, and where print becomes architecture for the sneaker itself.
This process transforms the Jordan into a Gesamtkunstwerk: a total work where sport, fashion, art, and cultural memory converge. It is no longer a shoe, nor only an artwork, but a living dialogue between disciplines — an object that invites contemplation as much as admiration.
